This is a very touching and beautiful story. For a beautiful 16 year old girl to be treated as she was and never being shown love in her life before the story started, she ended up as a loving, moral, and strong-willed woman. From the time she got picked up on a bench at a bus station by the person who later became her boyfriend, her life got more and more interesting and complicated.The characters were very well done. Although this is a telepathy/mind control story, it is easy to let the mind control take over, which was not done. Sawyer's moral character always was able to let her do the thing that was right.
I would recommend this story to anyone. There are some disturbing elements, but they never go to excess and are resolved well. I will wait for the sequel which MUST follow, as the teaser at the end of the story hinted.

A very imaginative adventure that I couldn't put down. It's a nice beginning to a story line I hope will continue
Riveting read, couldn't put it down. Highly recommend to anyone. It has something for everyone. Scary in how much truth could be in the concept.

Well written very believable story without the darkness so often used to provide suspense. Very good page turning read.

This is an excellent and entertaining book. The plot is plausible and well crafted, and Sawyer is adorable. I'd love to read a sequel.
While the plot and premise of the story drew me in fully, there were several elements that were developed and then totally dropped. Many could have been implemented easily into to story for further plot thickening or as pre-staging to the next book.
Even so, awesome works. Well worth the time and costs.
I was privileged to read a prepublication version of this story, and it lost nothing with the reread! While I don't share its views on religion and anarchy, I completely get into Sawyer's struggle. I'm looking forward to more stories from Sydney.
